FAQ

What makes your coffee better?

Coffee has a story behind it. Different beans tell a different story and we want to tell many stories, with many coffees from many parts of the world. We advocate Ethical Trading standards we ensure that we’re constantly improving buying practices with our coffee producers, and that everyone who makes our coffee shares in our successes. We work with importers directly and through intermediaries that supply coffee that is ethically traded.

Our coffee is about your drink in the cup, small batch production, passion, care, continual improvement and love.

What does ‘Ethically Traded’ mean?

Black Cab Coffee prides itseld on it’s ethos of ethically-traded coffee.

Our importers pay farmers and coffee-growing communities a significant margin above the fair trade price in return for a premium product. This in turn gives them the means to invest in their farms, resulting in further increases in quality. It’s a process of continual improvement which results in a better life for the coffee-growing communities, and better coffee for you and me!

Talk to me about coffee pods

We use Coffee Pod capsules that are 100% bio-based renewable resource! When you’ve made your coffee, simply place this waste in your local authority food-waste collection bin – the industrial composting process will break down our Pods and packaging in as little as 90 days.

For best results, use our Pods with a Coffee Pod machine from Dualit’s range or any Nespresso-compatible machine.

How should I store my coffee?

Keep your coffee tasting great by storing it at room temperature in an airtight container.

If we’re getting scientific about it, freezing coffee can be a very effective means for storing your beans or ground coffee without compromising quality, but only if you make sure that it is packed in a completely moisture free environment. If you don’t have a vac-pack machine, we don’t recommend you try this at home.

Do you offer coffee subscriptions?

We offer a subscription package on all of our coffee blends and pods. Visit our DETAIL/LINK NEEDED page for the full list.

You can subscribe to as many as four bags of coffee a week (if you’re a household of coffee fiends), or as few as one every four months (if you only drink coffee a one or two times each week).

We recommend that one 250g bag or one order of coffee pods is suitable for one person to have a coffee everyday for a month. Make the quantity two if you want more than one coffee a day, or if there are two people wanting coffee every day.

Then, sit back and wait until the coffee drops through your letterbox!
