Halloweeen Drinks

5 ways to Halloween up your drinks!

Halloween is upon us again. Let’s get some pumpkin spice in our lattes, some witchyness in our brew, and something spooky for a cocktail or two!

1. Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Nothing says Halloween drinks quite like a pumpkin latte. Combining some of this most seasonal veg with warm autumnal spices has your cuppa brimming with the best of the harvest mood.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

What goes into a pumpkin spiced latte?

You could just buy some flavoured syrup and add it to your latte for a quick and easy version, but we much prefer a real one using these ingredients:

Espresso Shot, Pumpkin Purée, Ground Ginger, Ground Nutmeg, Ground Cinnamon

Combine an espresso shot with 2 tsp of pumpkin purée and a pinch of each spice into a mug, if you have a clear glass one use that. Froth up some milk and add it to your coffee/pumpkin mix. Finally dust with and extra pinch of the spices. Garnish with a cinnamon stick. Lovely!

2. Witches' Brew

A cold brew coffee that’ll make you shiver with delight! For this frappe drink you’ll need some cold brew coffee, you can read about how to make cold brew here

To make it more fit for the occasion steep some spices in with the coffee when you leave it brewing overnight. Try cinnamon, cloves, star anise and nutmeg. When the coffee is brewed serve it over ice and top off with cream or whipped cream

3. Healthy Halloween Smoothie

How about a Jack-O-Lantern smoothie? This is a heathy fun treat for the kids this Halloween. Use a juicer to extract fresh juice from the carrot, ginger and the apple. Squeeze the orange and combine it to the mix.

2 Carrots

1 Stick of Celery

1 Apple

1 Small knob of ginger (optional)

The trick to transforming this into a drink most fit for the occasion is to decorate the glass with your spookiest Jack face. Use paper or a non-toxic paint. Once you top it up you’ll have a frightfully good-looking drink. Woooo!

4. Black Russian Cocktail

Halloween is a time to paint the town black. Get the drink to match your outfit with a Black Russian Cocktail. Simple to make and dark as the night sky.

Pour 2 parts vodka to 1 part coffee liqueur over ice. For a longer drink you can add a splash of cola. Deadly!

5. Frankenstein's Brew

A final quick tip, borrowed from St Patrick’s day celebrations is to add a drop of green food colouring to your beer, There’s nothing quite so wonderfully ghastly as a bright green pint!

You could also apply this tip to lemonade if you or the little devils aren’t on the booze.
